Dragon's Crown confirmed to receive Cross-Play in upcoming patch, goes on sale for 25% off

The gold award-winning brawler Dragon's Crown offered a lot of excellent gameplay and artwork at its release - but one thing it didn't offer was Cross-Play functionality.

Atlus decided to fix this oversight, and has issued a patch to the game in Japan which now makes cooperative and competitive Cross-Play possible between PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions of the game.

All well and good if you live in Japan - but what about those of us in the US or Europe? We can't speak for Europe just yet, but Atlus USA has confirmed that it's "releasing the patch very soon".

Crowning glory

As if that good enough news wasn't enough, Atlus also announced that Dragon's Crown would go on a special "Blessing of Discounts" sale which knocks $10 off the retail and PSN copies of the game in North America - dropping the Vita version down to $29.99.

Additionally, the Storyteller Voice Pack (which allows you to swap out the default narrator for any of the six character voices) is also on sale for $1.49, down 50 cents from its usual price.

In our review, we said Dragon's Crown was "deeper, more developed, and more engaging than your average beat-'em-up" and found that the "gorgeous" artwork and "stirring" soundtrack made this one an easy recommendation for Vita owners.

If you didn't pick it up over the summer, well - now's your chance. Buy Dragon's Crown before October 15, and you'll save yourself a couple of bucks.
