Bethesda has confirmed that Doom Eternal will be finding a home on Nintendo Switch. The announcement came by way of a tweet following the big QuakeCon 2018 keynote. It looks like Panic Button, the team that also brought Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Doom to Switch, could be handling the Switch version of Doom Eternal as well.

During the keynote, Bethesda treated us to our first look at Doom Eternal gameplay—a full 15 minutes of it, in fact. It looks like classic Doom, but with some fun new updates. The Slayer has a new weapon that can stab enemies with explosive bolts for some . . . messy results. Familiar enemies abound, while Bethesda has tossed some new faces into the mix as well.

Doom’s 2016 reboot also made its way to the Switch last year. Much like the Switch version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, it’s not a perfect port of the game, but it will do the trick if you want to take a AAA shooter on the go. We’ll see how Doom Eternal compares when it finally launches.

There’s no clear release date for Doom Eternal just yet, but expect it to arrive sometime in 2019.
