Digital Chocolate releases first iPhone games

Making good on Trip Hawkins' promises of Q4 launch

Digital Chocolate releases first iPhone games

Digital Chocolate has become the latest mobile publisher to hit the App Store, in its case with versions of existing titles Chocolate Shop Frenzy and Crazy Penguin Catapult.

It's not a surprise: back in September, DChoc boss Trip Hawkins told PocketGamer.biz that the publisher would release its first iPhone games in Q4 this year.

Chocolate Shop Frenzy costs £4.99 in the App Store, showing the company's intention to release premium products. Meanwhile, Crazy Penguin Catapult is £2.99.

Both games have separate 'Lite' free versions available, for people to try before they buy.

It's good news that Digital Chocolate is releasing games for iPhone and iPod touch – its mobile games have received consistently positive reviews in recent years.

iPhone fits into the publisher's multi-platform strategy. It now has 26 PC games available from its website, while also launching its Party Island community on Facebook. In that last interview, Hawkins also said DChoc was developing for Xbox Live Arcade.
