Long awaited but as cautious and mysterious as is a serial killer's want, the iPhone game based on the Dexter TV show has finally broken cover.

Now subtly renamed as Dexter the Game, it has you in the shoes of Dexter Morgan as he chooses his next deserving victim.

You'll be analysing crime scenes and discovering evidence of foul deeds unpunished, before committing some of your own by sneaking around to stalk your prey.

Publisher Marc Ecko Entertainment suggests you'll actually be faced with the choice of either playing a case straight - collecting evidence and going through the courts (probably not much fun) - or unleashing the Dark Passenger and generating some chop suey.

Over 1,100 lines of dialogue are promised, including voiceovers by Michael C. Hall, and storylines from series producer Tim Schlattmann.

Dexter the Game is out now, priced $5.99, €4.99 or £3.49. Hit the Buy It! button to unleash your inner Dex.
