Exclusive Death Rally screens show off Remedy's slick new iOS remake
New details on car combat game from lauded console developer
Remedy Games has provided us with two exclusive screenshots of its upcoming car combat game Death Rally.
The game, which is a remake of an old PC racing title, has you vying against five other contestants for domination of the road. With a variety of weapons at your disposal, though, winning is as much about skilled driving as it is good shooting.
Aside from looking fantastic, the screenshots give us a few hints at what to expect in terms of gameplay and features.
First, races are limited to six contestants. Obviously a single player campaign will be offered, but as of now there's no mention of multiplayer. However, a button in the corner of the first screen for accessing Game Center could point to Apple's service being leveraged for online multiplayer.
Other features include a bare minimum of five tracks and a Fame meter that no doubt tracks your reputation as you complete races.
Expect more details next week, when Remedy plans on demoing Death Rally during Game Developers Conference. Until then, check out the screens below. You view them in full size by clicking on the image gallery to the right.
Death Rally will be available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad in late March; no price has yet been announced.
