Max Payne developer's explosive racer Death Rally free on iOS today

Remedy Entertainment's Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning action-racer Death Rally is available for free today on the App Store.

Death Rally for iOS is a remake of one of the developer's earliest titles, which originally sped onto PCs in 1996.

In essence, it's a traditional top-down racer, featuring a variety of crazy high-speed vehicles (and a few guest stars from other games like Duke Nukem and John Gore) tearing around a series of gritty and attractive tracks.

That's the 'Rally' part of the title, anyway. The 'Death' element pertains to the arsenal of weapons that are attached to the various vehicles, including machine guns, mines, and everything in between.
