In celebration of controversial action hero Duke Nukem (presumably alone in that given the recent tepid reception to Forever on console), Remedy has updated its weapon-packed racer Death Rally with a number of themed items.

The biggest additions to the game are a new survival arena titled Duke Match, a brand new Monster truck vehicle for ramming your opponents, and a new radar indicator for boss cars.

Blinking stars have been added to alert you when you receive a new challenge, and if you manage to destroy an adversary's car, you'll now be rewarded with even more pick-ups.

Several minor tweaks have also been made, including new voices for the variety of bosses, a new car type for character Tex Harris, and a host of bug fixes, which - among other things - stop Missiles and Striker projectiles making impossible turns.

Death Rally received a Pocket Gamer Bronze Award at review, so it does come recommended - especially as a universal app for 59p / 99c / €0.79.
