Next Tuesday, developer Clockwork Pixels will release a new iPhone and iPad title called Darkside - a free-to-play 3D space shooter that sees you utilise dual on-screen sticks to guide an Arklight X-52 craft around several large asteroids.

You're tasked with destroying rival ships and other hazards using your trusty guns and ten handy (not to mention powerful) power-ups.

This mobile version of the game features Retina display-compatible graphics, and, thanks to Apple's Game Center, achievements and competitive leaderboards.

You will be able to download Darkside completely free of charge, but it will feature a single in-app purchase that will unlock two new game modes - Missions and Survival - and allow your ship to carry smart bombs.

If any of this is floating your boat, be sure to check out the trailer below.
