Cut the Rope is getting a film adaptation late next year, starring game's iconic character, Om Nom

Cut the Rope, the series of arcade-style puzzle games from ZeptoLab, is getting its own movie.

The movie, titled Om Nom, is produced by Blockade Entertainment and should hit theaters worldwide late next year.

It'll be an animated production and star franchise mascot Om Nom, who is discovered in a secret package by a teenage boy named Evan.

Once set loose, Om Nom becomes the target of several other characters, sending Om Nom and his friends on the run.

If you've never played Cut the Rope, they're cute and cartoony physics puzzlers that our reviews call "bright, imaginative, and supremely polished."

ZeptoLab already has a series of short, episodic films on YouTube following Om Nom's adventures.

According to ZeptoLab, a movie was the logical next step.
