If you're one of the few people left in the known universe who has yet to play Zeptolab's string-slicing physics puzzler Cut the Rope, then I have good news for you.

Both the iPad and iPhone versions are currently free on the App Store.

The game is all about dropping candy into the waiting mouth of a hungry little alien thing called Om Nom. You do this by cutting ropes. It's all pretty self explanatory really.

We gave the game a Silver Award when we reviewed it a couple of years ago, and said the game was "bright, imaginative, and supremely polished".

The "physics-based gameplay of Cut the Rope shows developer ZeptoLab has a knack for putting a unique spin on familiar ideas," said us.

Cut rope to win

Since the game first came out in 2010, it has been updated with extra content, the latest of which had something to do with cheese. I'm not even making that up.

So if all of that adds up to a game you might like to try, why not head on over to the App Store where you can grab the iPad [download] and iPhone [download] versions of Cut the Rope for nothing at all.
