Crunchyroll teams up with Genshin Impact for collaboration and rewards

For better or for worse, Crunchyroll has begun pushing hard to make its normally niche subscription service into a real entertainment powerhouse. Be that their original animations, game service, or a brand-new collaboration with none other than Genshin Impact that sees the American server debut of an exclusive cosmetic!
Yes, starting August 12th through September 22nd, and tying into the upcoming 7.0 version of Genshin Impact, players who sign up for a Crunchyroll subscription will be able to claim an exclusive rewards code. Fan-tier subscribers (new and existing) can nab themselves a character growth bundle with up to 40 Primogems and other goodies.
Cosmetic touches
Ah, but what about that exclusive cosmetic I mentioned? Well, Mega Fan tier subscribers will also be able to grab themselves the Neo Terminal: Floating Leaf Model pet that makes its American server debut as a Crunchyroll-exclusive collaboration item. That's on top of the existing goodies available for fan-tier subscribers too.The decision to host this collaboration is far from the first time we've seen it happen. Crunchyroll previously held one with Forza Horizon 6, but the decision for a mobile game to partner with a subscription service is something we actually discussed in-depth during the Pocket Gamer podcast.
Crunchyroll has certainly gotten a lot of flak for straying from its previous simple business model of being the one-stop shop for anime streaming. But if it has to try and expand and offer some tantalising rewards to draw in subscribers, it could do a lot worse than working with one of the more famous mobile franchises out there.
