- Crunchyroll Game Vault has introduced a new release with Patch Quest
- Take on a monster-filled island with the ruins of a lost civilisation
- Explore, team up with others in co-op and tame monsters to aid you
Crunchyroll Game Vault has proven to be quite a strong entrant in the gaming subscription field. And while it makes its main niche cult classics from Japan, the latest release, Patch Quest, shows they also aren't slacking in terms of more conventional offerings on mobile.
Well, conventional may not be the way to describe Patch Quest. This Metroidvania bullet hell roguelike sees you exploring the ruins of an ancient civilisation on the lost island of Patchlantis while avoiding monsters, obstacles and traps in a charmingly hand-drawn world.
Fortunately, you won't be going it alone. Not just because of co-op (although that's also available) but also because you're fortunate enough to not just have your wits, but a lasso! You'll be able to tame each and every monster you come across and turn their abilities to your advantage.

With more than 50 monsters to tame, a huge amount of collectables to discover and all manner of gadgets, you'll slowly uncover and unlock new, more dangerous areas to explore with the aid of your monstrous allies. Suffice it to say that while this is an unusual entry in the Metroidvania genre, it's actually quite the ingenious twist, especially when you consider how important monster variety is in this genre.
Add to that the aforementioned inclusion of co-op and the various zones you'll get to explore, and it looks as if Patch Quest is very well equipped to offer an exciting new release for those looking to step outside their comfort zone in the Game Vault.
