Zeboyd Games is confident that Cosmic Star Heroine will launch on PS Vita at 30fps
Fingers crossed

Zeboyd Games has issued an update regarding the PS Vita version of its 16-bit RPG Cosmic Star Heroine after having recently tested it out.
The original plan was to finish developing the entirety of Cosmic Star Heroine and then, while in beta, to have a look at optimizing the PS Vita version.
However, in light of other indie studios recently having to cancel the PS Vita versions of their games - such as what happened with Galak-Z (and may also happen with Not A Hero) - due to the technical limitations of Sony's handheld console, Zeboyd pushed the PS Vita testing forward on its schedule.
"Initial performance was pretty much unplayable (single digit frame rate at times)," writes Zeboyd, "but after spending a little less than a week on optimization, we've got it running over 30 fps most of the time (dropping briefly with certain actions)."

"It still has a ways to go (want to make that 30 fps or higher ALL THE TIME), but we still have more things left to optimize and don't predict any major issues," the studio adds.
Due to this, the studio reckons that the PS Vita version will available at the game's initial launch rather than having a staggered release with the other platforms.
Good news then hopefully, especially for any PS Vita owners who feel a little let down by the recent cancellations.
