Revamped Champ Man 2011 coming soon to iPhone

Yesterday, Pocket Gamer got a hands-on demonstration of Beautiful Game Studios’s new Championship Manager title for iPhone.

Built for the first time from the ground up on iPhone, CM11 ditches much of its two predecessors' UIs to deliver a more rewarding, less cluttered experience for would-be Wengers.

Champ Man 2011 will pack in five playable European leagues, all the way down to the Blue Square Bet Premier in England, and offer the familiar array of features associated with the franchise, such as training, press conferences, and customised player runs.

Byte-sized chunks of action

Beautiful Game Studios’s head, Roy Meredith, said the iPhone game "will deliver a 'just one more play' complusion, but one not too overbearing and deep. I can already foresee commuters on the Tube missing their stop on account of CM11."

Meredith admitted that the price is yet to be decided, but did confirm that it won’t be anything like stablemate Chaos Rings’s £7.49 launch price.

Champ Man 2011 will be submitted to Apple’s review team in the third week of September, so we can look forward to CM11 kicking off on iPhone at the end of September or beginning of October.

Partnership with Shanda

In related news, Beautiful Games Studios announced a strategic partnership with a leading online game publisher and operator in China, Shanda Games.

"Football is hugely popular in China, especially the European Teams, so we are delighted to be partnering with one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world to bring the Championship Manager brand to Chinese gamers and football fans," said Meredith.

Working closely together, Beautiful Games Studios and the MMO-specialists Shanda Games will explore opportunities to introduce the Champ Man brand into China.
