You'd think in the days of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Resident Evil 4, a little 2D topdown driving-and-shooting title like Car Jack Streets would be unlikely to cause much of a stir.

And that's exactly what the download-only game won't be doing in Germany as it won't be available there due to its age certification laws. We assume this has to do with it being a 16-rated game on kid-friendly Nintendo's download DSiWare channel.

It will available elsewhere in Europe and the US this week however.

Squeezed down for Nindy

Starring as Randal Meyers, a petty criminal with a long standing gambling habit and a streak of bad luck, you have complete criminal and legitimate tasks to repay a $1 million debt to the Italian mob.

Featuring a real-time game mechanic, Car Jack Streets requires the player to pay back $50,000 of the debt each week or face certain death.

Originally released on mobile, it's since come to iPhone, and is planned for PSP minis as well.

"Car Jack Streets is a miniature marvel," says Paul Farley, MD of publisher Tag Games.

"Our technical team has succeeding in squeezing a huge iPhone game into a DSiWare download. Nintendo DSi gamers are getting all the fun and content of the original, but with a much improved control scheme and an always-on city map."

Car Jack Streets costs 800 Nintendo Points. It's out now (15th March) in the US, and Friday 20th March in Europe.
