Bullet Echo introduces new Ghost in the Shell collaboration featuring The Major and more

• Bullet Echo, the top-down shooter, is set to collab with Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045
• The collab features new skins based on the iconic series cast as they appear in the anime
• Not only that but a limited-time in-game event will also kick off as part of the collab

With a new anime set to premiere later this month, Ghost in the Shell is once more back in the pop culture limelight. And taking advantage of this resurgence in popularity, hit top-down shooter Bullet Echo is collaboration with Ghost in the Shell: SAC_245! The new event brings The Major and other iconic characters to the world of Bullet Echo.

Four new character skins will debut in Bullet Echo, featuring Major Motoko Kusanagi, Batou, Saito and Togusa as they appeared in SAC_2045. While each iteration of the Ghost in the Shell story has been quite different, the characters remain as iconic as ever.

Deus ex machina

The collaboration itself kicks off tomorrow (June 4th) and will run all the way until July 4th. Stand Alone Complex (SAC) will be easily recognisable to fans of GitS throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, as it took inspiration from the first standalone film moreso than Masamune Shirow's hit manga.

Meanwhile, the new 2026 anime is set to lean much more heavily into the anarchic comedy and action of Shirow's other works. So if you want to get a sense of the contrast you'll need only take a look at the tactical action in Bullet Echo compared to the riotous, over-the-top fun of the new series.

Still, one of the good things about Ghost in the Shell as a series is how it has so many different interpretations. But fast-paced action remains a cornerstone of the series, and with a new in-game event taking place alongside the introduction of these collab skins I've no doubt Bullet Echo will deliver.
