Mobile sci-fi action sports game Boxing Star has announced their latest update: the Pretender Omega Gear Update. This new patch brings with it a fair amount of new content alongside some in-game events that will be handing out some free rewards simply for logging in, so it’s a wonderful time to be a fan of the unique arcade-y boxing game!

Boxing Star is a bit of an oddball, both in premise and the role it fills within the mobile game market. What might seem to be your average boxing simulation game on the surface differentiates itself with the inclusion of Gears. These are basically exoskeletons that fighters can wear that give them unique abilities, and there are a fair few on display.

Combine that with Boxing Star broaching a sports genre that is rarely seen within mobile gaming, and you’ve got a pretty special little spin on the genre. And now, with this new update, things are sure to get even wilder with the inclusion of the new Pretender Omega Gear, which introduces a brand new super-powerful Gear to use in battle.

To celebrate the inclusion of this equipment, Boxing Star will also be hosting a daily log-in reward event, which will hand out the Gold and Pretender Omega Box both, simply for checking into the game for a short duration starting now. It’s free stuff, so you’d do well to give the game a check-in as often as you can for a bit.

Boxing Star, while a bit of a cult success, has been updated fairly frequently between content patches and seasonal events, and it looks to not be slowing down anytime soon.
