  • Boxbound is an upcoming satirical, story-adjacent puzzler
  • Take on a job as a postal worker with your fellow employee Peter
  • Stack boxes, make deliveries and deal with strange, world-changing events

If you've ever wanted to be a postal worker, and experienced the nerve-wracking stress of making speedy deliveries and working under intense pressure well, first of all, I can't imagine what sort of appeal you see in it. But if that's what you're looking for, maybe the upcoming satirical story-based puzzler Boxbound is what you're looking for

The gameplay in Boxbound is simple, you need to fit variously-shaped boxes onto a snaking grid before making deliveries as you drive along the city streets dodging obstacles left and right. The twist comes in, well, the twists, as you'll need to deal with everything from power outages to debris covering the grid that needs sweeping up.

Oh, and did I mention that the outside world will be moving all the time while you're working? Your good friend and fellow employee Peter will keep you abreast of all the goings-on that change your work drastically and in weirder and weirder ways.

Neither snow, nor rain...

That's still not getting into the functionally limitless number of levels available in Boxbound or the additional shapes of packages you'll unlock as you progress. Yes, just a look at the trailer indicates what kind of whacky, weird and somewhat sinister sort of time Boxbound will be.

Releasing March 31st, Boxbound promises to offer a form of distinctive charm that'll keep players coming back for more. Personally speaking, I admit that the gameplay itself doesn't exactly sway me, but when you see Peter switching colourful outfits and the indication that many chaotic and strange things are happening outside which has you shipping everything up to and including explosives, well, I feel I have to find out what it's all about!
