Fabled Final Fantasy developer Square Enix has used this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo to announce an all-new vampire-themed action-RPG for the iPhone and iPad.

It's called Bloodmasque, and it's powered by Unreal Engine 3 (the engine behind plenty of other iOS apps, such as Infinity Blade and Dungeon Defenders.)

In Bloodmasque, you assume the role of a Blade-esque vampire hunter, who you can customise as you see fit.

You can even use the front-facing camera on your iOS device to take a snap of your face, and super-impose it onto your on-screen hero.

Once you've got your mug in the game, your aim is to rid 19th century Paris of the blood-sucking fiends that inhabit it, before they successfully complete their mission and oppress the human race.

Luckily, you don't have to fight alone. You can handpick a team of battle-hardened hunters that have been created by other players from around the world.

Bloodmasque will be available to download from the App Store sometime this summer. Check out the trailer and the images in our gallery above while you wait.
