E3 2015: Nintendo unveils Metroid Prime-esque multiplayer sport Blast Ball for 3DS
Shoot and score

You know what football needs? More guns. And Nintendo, the most family friendly of all game companies, is the one to make this connection.
The company debuted Blast Ball at the Nintendo World Championships last night.
On show (as seen in the video below) was a 3v3 future sport in which each team member jumps inside a mech and tries to shoot a giant electric ball into a goal.
Once a team scores the goal then shrinks so that it's a little more difficult for them to score again.
You can also attack your opponent's mechs, charge up shots for a bigger blast, collect power-ups, and sacrifice yourself to stop the other team scoring.

That's all we know about Blast Ball right now. But with its HUD, first-person view, and gun arm it has a certain Metroid Prime feel to it, don't you think?
How about this for an elevator pitch, then: multiplayer Metroid football with mechs. That's Blast Ball. Look out for it on 3DS at some point.
