Gameloft's Blades of Fury spins onto App Store

With the release of Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Modern Combat: Sandstorm and now Blades of Fury in as many weeks, Gameloft is upping the ante when it comes to highly polished - console-inspired - content on iPhone and iPod touch.

Of course, it’s matching this with an appropriate price tag: all the games are $6.99 or £3.99.

As for Blades of Fury, Gameloft claims it's "the first 3D arcade fighting game" on the App Store.

The one-on-one brawler comes with a selection of 10 characters, each of which have their own weapons, attacks, combos and costumes, plus 10 arenas to fight in.

The characters also have their own backstories and motivations for you pretend actually matter.

When it comes to the important parts of the game, each character has around 20 attacks and combos including; attack, dodge, guard, counter, jump, break armour, magic, crouch, step aside and roll.

These are controlled using a virtual D-pad and touch buttons.

The game has four single player modes: story, arcade, survival and practice, and there’s also a multi-player mode over Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi.

Blades of Fury is out now, priced $6.99 or €5.49 of £3.99. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the fight.
