Tear up the roads of six hot cities in Gameloft's latest racer

Asphalt 4: Elite Racing revving up for HD and standard mobile formats

It's not often a racing game will mix up cars and bikes, so Asphalt 4: Elite Racing is off to a rubber-burning good start with its eclectic mix of available vehicles.

Ten dream cars and bikes including the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari F430 Spider, Nissan GT-R and Ducati 1098 irresponsibly floor it through six of the world's hottest cities. Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, Shanghai, New York, Dubai and Paris have been recreated in some impressive looking 3D visuals, and promise to come to life with a variety of different weather conditions to test your lead-footed skills.

The option to fine tune Asphalt 4: Elite Racing's luxurious motors is also available, so budding mobile mechanics can find an extra layer of interest in pimping their rides for optimal performance around the urban racetracks.

To spice up the metropolitan circuits, there's even a Cop-chase mode, though inclusion of speed cameras and road works (the real traffic police – am I right, motorists?) seems unlikely.

Those with phat mobile screens will welcome the HD version (shown) of Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, which sports more detailed textures on the 3D graphics and a few extra vehicle and environmental tweaks. (You can also see the standard version of Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, if you wish.)

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
