The Machine's Garden is a cryptic puzzler about an AI learning about the end of humanity

I don't know about you, but if anybody points a stylish, low-fi puzzle game at me I'm right on board. The Machine's Garden is precisely that, and as part of Pocket Gamer LaunchPad we're pleased to be able to exclusively reveal its release date.

Set in the deep future, The Machine's Garden has players help an AI understand what came to pass in the events leading up to it being reactivated. As you can probably tell from the aesthetic, - a strong retro-futuristic look - it's highly likely that the idiotic humans who lived on the planet brought themselves to the brink of extinction in a ridiculous cold-war situation, although who knows? You'll have to play the game to find out - and why wouldn't you want to play a low-fi, low-rez style game that looks like this?

You'll unravel that story through completing a series of handcrafted hexagonal grid puzzles - many of which rely on special cells which twist the way your simple five-way movement functions. By doing this you'll unlock memories, and subsystems, of the military supercomputer, helping it to understand the world beyond its garden. Sometimes, though, things are forgotten for a reason.

It's an incredibly smart-looking puzzler, which is not only launching for iOS and Android, but also PC (via both Steam and Itch.io) and we're really happy to reveal that it will be releasing across all of those platforms and storefronts on the 7th of August.
