Reflex Unit 2 is an intriguing strategy title that gives you a variety of futuristic mechs to utilize in your fight against a new robot invasion. The story here follows on from the events of the first game, where the conflict ended about as well as it could. Now, however, a new threat has arrived in the form of an even larger army of killer drones.
You'll likely start out by cutting your teeth in the campaign mode. Here, you can hone your skills, hunt for hidden mech parts, and work your way through the different difficulty modes. An aggressive approach to combat is just as valid as playing it stealthily, or you could use a mixture of the two to keep things fresh.
Interestingly, the whole thing can be played in VR using Oculus GO, Rift, and Quest. It's designed to support cross-platform play, allowing VR and non-VR players to duke it out or work together online. This has the additional benefit of making it more likely that you'll find others to play with.
The game offers a deathmatch mode for up to 4 players to take part in, with five maps to play on at launch. There's also a battle royale mode, because of course there is. This one supports up to 4 players, which could mark it out as something a little different in the BR space. Matches last only 5 minutes, so they should be ideal for on-the-go play.
