Running Away is an upcoming narrative-driven game from Swedish developer Sleeper Cell that will be available for iOS and Android on 12th March. It's set to be the first in a series of bite-sized stories from the indie team.

Running Away tells a tale of two brothers who have become somewhat estranged being reunited after one of them – named Sam – has ended a relationship and returns to his home town before moving in with his sibling, who we will play as.

You will communicate with him using a messaging app where you'll learn about each other again, rebuilding the bond that had been lost by spending years apart from one another. Over time though it becomes clear that Sam is hiding something and perhaps his return home isn't as innocent as missing his family.

As you've probably guessed at this point, you'll be able to make various choices throughout the game that will shape the story and your relationship with your brother. Making certain decisions will make Sam more open to sharing his secrets whilst others might cause him to become more cagey than before.

The game is set to be the first in series of messenger style titles, with more already in development. Discussing this, Arskah Ardeshir said: “I’m working with three different writers at the moment, and they all have very different backgrounds”.

He added: “The chat setup can be used for so many different genres and game types, so we really hope people will take the chance to explore many different kinds of stories.”

Running Away will be available on the App Store and Google Play next week when it releases on 12th March. It will be a free-to-play game.
