Star Wars: Uprising - Doesn't quite rise high enough

Star Wars: Uprising is about as casual as an RPG can get without taking every spattering of interactivity away from the player.

It's set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and sees you running around completing missions, shooting Imperial soldiers, and opening chests to earn rewards.

The whole thing is remarkably formulaic, and while there are plenty of nods to the wider Star Wars universe, the experience bears more resemblance to the Clone Wars movie than anything else.

Tappy controls, gatcha mechanics, plenty of currencies, and a constant internet connection complete the free to play package.

There's nothing really wrong with it, but if you were hoping for a Star Wars mobile game with a little more bite than the usual card battlers and tower defence titles, you're going to come away disappointed.

Star Wars: Uprising is a perfectly solid RPG, but it doesn't do much that we haven't all seen before

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
