The Legend of Zeldo: Lonk's Awakening imagines the worst Nintendo mobile game ever
It can't get worse than this, surely
Lonk's Awakening. It's called The Legend of Zeldo: Lonk's Awakening. What did we do to deserve this?
This new Flappy Bird clone outdoes itself by managing to squeeze in an awful, copyright dodging take on The Legend of Zelda.
You play as Lonk (Link) as he flies haphazardly through a lava cave. This cave is populated with a number of green brick towers that you then have to dodge through. You know how it goes by now.
There are puns, too. You can unlock items such as the Whim Waker and Irony Boots for boosts. Yes, the puns are awful, but are they bad enough to encourage Nintendo to try to get this game taken down?
As we all know by now, Nintendo has teamed up with DeNa to bring its most famous characters to mobile. So this game, Lonk's Awakening, potentially gets in the way of that effort.
Sure, a couple of letters have been changed, but the resemblance to Zelda is obvious here. Nintendo may not be happy with that.
If nothing else, Lonk's Awakening shows us the worst case scenario of Nintendo bringing its games to mobile.
It's somehow even worse than anything we imagined in our joke article. Now that's impressive.
But, hey, at least it's free and doesn't have any ads.
