The Room 2 Look over at the rolltop desk beneath the framed newspaper article. Open the drawer on the front to find a torn piece of an old photograph.

The Room 2

Look at the table in the middle of the room and cast your eye over the legal letter. Take the brass viewfinder.

The Room 2

Place the viewfinder into the back of the camera. A compartment will open up, containing a tiny metal handle. Grab it and insert it into the cog on the side of the camera. Twist it until the concertina camera comes all the way out.

The Room 2

Go back to the viewfinder and spin it clockwise until the room comes into focus. This will force the rolltop desk to spring open.

The Room 2

Look at the lamp on top of the desk. Spin the metal wheel around until you see a green button. Press it and a compartment will open up, containing a key. Snatch it.

The Room 2

The key has three arms that you can twist around to fit different locks. Start by making it look like the image above and use it in the lock above the drawers inside the desk.

The Room 2

The drawers are empty. That's because they're actually a combination lock. You just need to open them to different lengths so they hit three different roman numerals.

The specific numerals are hidden around the desk. One is on a book, another is on one of the legs, and the third is behind a tiny square plaque on the front of the desk (which is opened when touched with two fingers).

The Room 2

Slide them out so the top drawer touches II, the second touches IV, and the bottom one hits V. They will turn into one drawer which contains a light bulb. Take it.

The Room 2

A ball will roll out of the drawers and fall behind another door with a weird lock. Take the key from earlier and this time twist the arms so it looks like the above image. Use it to unlock the door.

The Room 2

Roll the ball into this position.

The Room 2

Spin the second row and drop the ball down to the third row. Then, spin the second again until you get it to look like the image above, and place the ball like the screenshot.

The Room 2

Spin the third row. Move the ball down to the fourth row like above.

The Room 2

Spin the second row. Move the ball up to the second row.

The Room 2

Finally, spin the third row again and guide the ball into the goal hole. A "Cosmos" card will appear - you should take it.

The Room 2

Put the light bulb in the camera and press the button on the back of the light bulb holder to take a photograph. It will appear from the left side. Drag it out and then look at it with your eyepiece to make a box appear on the table.

The Room 2

First, though, go back to the desk. Get the key and make it look like this. Use it in the lock on the left side of the desk interior and spin it.

The Room 2

Move the three square pieces in the top-left-hand corner as seen above. You can now move the two tall pieces up, move the long pieces left, and move down the piece with the brass catch.

The Room 2

On the right side, move the two small square pieces up and left like in the image above. Then, slide down the tall piece, move the long pieces right, and move the piece with the brass catch up. You can now grab the metal symbol.

The Room 2

Put the metal symbol in the corresponding hole on the front of the desk. A compartment will open up, containing a long metal lever. Take it.

The Room 2

Put the level on the typewriter. Now, type out "INFINITY" (it's the word on the piece of paper near the typewriter). Then, hit the red button on the right.

The words "We began at home, staring at the stars. So much to discover, so little time" will appear.

The Room 2

Put the Sanctuary (Home), Cosmos (Stars), and Time (Time) cards in the three spaces in front of the box. Hit the button and the word "Voyage" will appear in the window.

The Room 2

Type "VOYAGE" into the typewriter. Press the button. You'll see the following message:

"Countless ships bore us triumphant to a hidden temple. It was at home you proved a shallow friend."

The Room 2

Lay the cards Voyage (Ship), Temple (Temple), and Sanctuary (Home) in front of the box. Hit the button. The word "Endless" appears.

The Room 2

Type "ENDLESS" into the typewriter. The following message will appear:

"Under these alien stars I courted only death. I am saved by science. My muse."

If you then put on your eyepiece, you'll also see the message: "Up up down up down down down up." No, not the Konami code. Instead...

The Room 2

Press the two yellow buttons at the front of the desk at the same time to open a panel with lots of little switches. Turn them up and down in accordance with the message received in the previous step.

A drawer will slide open containing a "Death" card. Grab it.

The Room 2

Put the following cards in front of the box: Cosmos (Stars), Death (Death), and Knowledge (Science). Press the button and the word "Hope" will appear in the window.

The Room 2

Type "HOPE" into the typewriter. You'll see a message that reads: "The null graced me with time for a dozen lives' work. Now death returns to take his due."

The Room 2

Take the bell that fell off the top of the box. Look at it in more detail and spin the bottom half around until the design lines up.

The Room 2

You'll get the clapper. Unfurl the two metal pieces at the bottom to open it up into a key.

The Room 2

Place it into the keyhole on the left side of the box. Twist it and a door will open containing a dial. Nab it.

The Room 2

Use the key again, this time on the glass cabinet in the back of the room. Unlock the door and pull it back.

The Room 2

Look at the book on the top shelf. Open the latch and open the book to find a decorative plate.

The Room 2

Place it in the plate holder at the bottom of the cabinet and spin the inner and outer dials to complete the picture. A piece of wood will drop off, revealing the word "Khan".

The Room 2

Look at the books on the shelf above and pull the black book that is tipping forward. A safe will magically appear in the wall to the left of the cabinet.

The Room 2

Place the dial in the safe. Then, twist it clockwise until the first character turns to 'K', then - without taking your finger off the screen - twist it counter clockwise until it reads 'H'.

Then, clockwise for 'A', and anticlockwise for 'N'. Pull the handle on the left, open the safe, and take the null card.

The Room 2

Place the Null, Time, and Death cards on the rectangles in front of the box. Press the button. This will cause the right door on the glass cabinet to smash open.

The Room 2

Place the torn photo from the very start of this guide in the photo frame. Look at it through the eyepiece and a dead body will appear on the table.

The Room 2

Unlock the watch in the skeleton's hand. Look at the clock face with your eyepiece. A key will appear, so you should take it.

The Room 2

Put the key in the box on the table. Turn it. Tap on the floating blob of black goo to finish the chapter.
