When it comes to mobile advertising networks, scale is the vital feature.

That's one reason Japanese gaming-focused outfit Metaps is opening up access to its DirectTAP pay-per-click network.

During its closed beta, it's been used by big publishers on Android, but now it's available for everyone, as well as expanding to iOS in the coming months.

Free-to-use

So what, you might be thinking. Another ad network...

Metaps' main selling point with DirectTAP, however, is that it doesn't take any commission from the deals between advertisers and app developers.

Of course, Metaps isn't the company to offer such a service - Chartboost and PapayaMobile's AppFlood offer a similar deal.

But given Metaps' position in the high value Japanese market, it looks to be well worth further investigation.

Filled up

In addition to its commission-free status, Metaps claims that DirectTAP will offer 100 percent fill-rate, thanks to its mixture of pay-per-click and performance advertising.

Developers can also display their own house ads if they want to cross-promote their portfolio.

And premium paid-for services are available for developers who want consulting or ad optimisation.

You can find out more at the Metaps' website.
