GameStick will launch around the world on October 29th
End of September for Kickstarter backers
PlayJam has announced that GameStick will arrive in stores around the globe on October 29th.
This is a whole month later than the September 30th release date that was previously suggested by listings for the Android-powered microconsole on Amazon and GameStop.
GameStop, GAME, and Amazon are partnered for the launch. GAME maintains its exclusive retail deal for GameStick in the UK.
Other outlets in Canada, Europe, and the Middle East will receive stock prior to the end of year Holiday season.
The new launch date means that GameStick has moved from paper to final product in 9 months, following funding from Kickstarter.
This is the second delay of the GameStick's release date, with the original date being slated for June 2013. PlayJam's excuse? It points towards QA testing and ensuring that its Kickstarter backers receive the console first.
Those who backed the GameStick on Kickstarter will received their units nearer the end of September 2013.
