As expected, Hook Champ developer Rocketcat Games has just let new side-scrolling brawl-'em-up Punch Quest loose onto the New Zealand App Store.

Naturally, this means it'll be available in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Punch Quest is an arcade-style fighting game that utilises the increasingly popular auto-run mechanic. This allows you to just concentrate on slamming, punching, and uppercutting the monsters you come across in their stupid faces.

If you're looking to dispatch your enemies with a little more flair, however, you can jump on the back of a laser-shooting dinosaur or turn yourself into a magical gnome.

There are hats to collect, too, apparently. We're not quite sure what they do, but we've been promised that they're "really fancy". So, yeah, there's that.

Punch Quest is a free Universal app, so there's nothing stopping you from giving it a whirl.
