Rumour: 3 new Nexus phones on the way by the end of the year
|

After last week's announcement from Google that the Sony Xperia S would be included in the Android Open Source Project, a leaked roadmap from Japanese network NTT Docomo appears to suggest that a Sony Nexus phone is on the way.

If this roadmap is to believed, we can also expect a Nexus device from LG and a Galaxy Nexus II from Samsung.

The launching of this trio of Nexus handsets - which generally receive Android OS updates first - is perfectly timed to coincide with the fifth birthday of the Android operating system.

If the rumours turn out to be true, then Sony and LG will join HTC, Samsung, and Asus as manufacturers of a Nexus device.

More than that, though, for the first time we'll have four or five brand-new devices on the market all sporting a big Google logo on their back.
