Earlier this year, EA Mobile released The Simpsons: Tapped Out, a simple freemium city-building simulator that nevertheless saw unprecedented demand from fans of the animated series.

Days after its release in March, this demand resulted in EA pulling it from the App Store due to the massive amount of pressure that The Simpsons-loving fans were placing on the game's servers.

Now, five months later, EA has confirmed that the game will return to the App Store across the globe by the end of the week.

We were fairly underwhelmed with the game in its original incarnation, so hopefully EA slid in a few upgrades to the game itself during its extensive downtime.
