Freemium iOS town-building game The Simpsons: Tapped Out removed from App Store due to connection issues

According to a statement on EA's support forums, the gaming giant's recently released freemium town-building game The Simpsons: Tapped Out has been removed from the App Store due to server issues.

"To ensure current players have the best possible experience, we've temporarily removed The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store to limit the game’s server capacity to its current players and address connectivity and lag time issues," the post reads.

The issues, which have been plaguing the game for the past few days, are due to an "overwhelmingly positive" response to the title.

"The response to The Simpsons: Tapped Out has been overwhelmingly positive - so overwhelming, in fact, it has created some connection issues," an EA rep on The Simpsons: Tapped Out's Facebook page explains.

It's all yellow

EA has said that you'll be able to continue playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out if you've already downloaded it from Apple's App Store.

That may not be as good as it sounds, however, as some players are already complaining about losing their progress.

"I have lost all my money all my friends are gone and I have started from level one again but all my houses are still there," one disgruntled player states on the game's Facebook page.

EA will re-release the game on the App Store for everyone else once it has "a solution" to the current problems.
