The Blackberry PlayBook has had a tough time recently. After months of poor sales, RIM decided to slash the price of its tablet from £399 to £249 ($499 to $299 US).
If that wasn’t enough of an incentive to give the ailing slate a whirl, an industrious member of the CrackBerry forums has come up with a way to put the power of Nintendo’s NES onto the PlayBook.
The FCEUX emulator allows PlayBook owners to run almost any NES ROM available, transforming their futuristic touchscreen into a retro gaming library.
Blast from the pastAs always with unofficial emulators, the legality of the program is suspect at best. You will also need to side-load the program onto your PlayBook, so those unfamiliar with the finer points of the QNX OS are going to have difficulty getting the emu up and running.
