Nintendo officially revealed today that the 3DS camera will soon be able to shoot stereoscopic 3D movies, in addition to the still photos it can already take.

After a free software update in November, 3DS users will be able to record short clips that will be viewable on the 3DS's screen.

Stop-motion recording will also become available, allowing 3DS owners to take lots of 3D pictures and stitch them all together to create a stop-motion video.

The firmware update will be rolled out to all 3DS users sometime next month.
