Myriad Group, a specialist in the realm of mobile technology, has announced the launch of Alien Dalvik, which will enable the use of Android applications on non-Android platforms.

Alien Dalvik will enable a vast majority of Android apps to run, unmodified, on various other platforms with simple alterations to the Android Package (APK) files.

According to Myriad Group, this latest Android innovation will “Allow operators, OEMs and application store owners to easily access the Android ecosystem and deploy Android applications across multiple device operating systems, all without compromising performance.”

Alien Dalvik will be demonstrated on a Nokia N900 at the Mobile World Conference taking place in Barcelona between the 14th and 17th of February.

It will be commercially available for the MeeGo platform later this year, with further support to be announced in the coming months.
