Rovio Mobile has told UK TV industry site C21media that the previously mentioned Angry Birds animated series is now moving into production.

Following a whirlwind release schedule and more than 10 million sales, Rovio is making sure not to miss a trick with Angry Birds merchandising opportunities. The company has already released t-shirts, phone covers, plush toys and boardgames, but there’s still more flustered fowl content on the horizon.

“It was a completely new area for us; we had to get our bearings there, and a sense of how the whole market was,” Rovio CEO Mikael Hed said of the move into TV.

"That was the first part of the exercise, and now that we've done that, the next part is to move into production, and that's where we are right now.”

What we still don’t know is whether the series is intended to end up on the silver screen, on TV, or as a web series. Or mobisodes - remember them?
