In recent days Nintendo has attracted criticism for its decision to region-lock the 3DS, but a much more serious problem could create a headache for the company.

A Japanese magazine is reporting that many people began to feel some discomfort after trying out the new handheld at an event in Tokyo a few weeks ago. The majority of people that the magazine interviewed complained of dizziness and eye fatigue after playing in 3D, and had to revert to 2D to alleviate the symptoms.

This echoes the sentiments of our own Jon Jordan, who admitted to feeling nauseous after viewing a Resident Evil trailer while testing the device at E3 last year. Still, in his second opinion piece Will Wilson suffered no such ill-effects.

While Kotaku is keen to point out that this is completely anecdotal and not scientific evidence, it certainly raises questions about how developers are using Nintendo's 3D technology.
