With over 500,000 copies sold in Japan within three weeks of release, Namco Bandai is keen to attempt to mirror the success of God Eater success in Europe.

Hence it's taking some time to enhance the highly customisable action game, which won't be released until 2011 in the renamed form of God Eater Burst.

The art style, theme and background are very Japanese in tone, as the game re-imagines a post-apocalyptic world, full of unpleasant mutant beasts known as Aragami.

Of course, man's only hope is a range of powerful weapons called the God Arc and the God Eaters who wield them.

So creating your own warrior, you'll get to slash, shoot and devour your way through the massed ranks of Aragami by customising your guns, bullets and shields.

Bullets, in particular, are a vital element for success as you can alter their strength, patterns and elemental type, with the various combinations having different effects on different enemies.

In terms of enhancements for the European version, twice the number of missions will be available, while gameplay is tweaked too. Alongside the original Prey Attack, you'll be able to transform into the Burst mode, boosting your stats and gaining special bullets to fire off more powerful attacks.

God Eater Burst is a squad-based game, so as well as the single player AI mode, you'll be able to create hunting parties with up to four players via an adhoc connection or connect your PSP to a PlayStation 3 and play online using adhoc party option in cooperative mode.

More details about the game will be released over the coming months.
