George Romero’s App of the Dead wandering onto iPhone

They say that a cat has nine lives. Well, if this holds true for zombies too, George A. Romero’s Dead Series only has three more episodes left...

To coincide with the horror master’s upcoming sixth Dead movie, Survival of the Dead, Ohio-based studio Additive Interactive is bringing the part-photo mash-up, part-game App of the Dead to the iPhone in the next few weeks.

Play the role of Romero - or perhaps more accurately the make-up lady - and turn photos of your friends and family into horrifying zombies, using 20 ghastly effects.

You can then, of course, save the grisly creations to your iPhone and publish the pics straightaway on Facebook.

But the undead fun does not end there.

Importing your ghoulish creations into a shooting gallery game, you are able to then to splatter their brains into a bloody, bloody mess.

Until they wake up again, I guess.
