Enhanced Motorola Motoroi bound for UK
Quicker model on its way
We could only look on with envy as the Motorola Motoroi (Korea’s first Android phone) was released earlier in the year. It’s a mighty handsome phone, that’s for sure.
The good news is it’s now heading to the UK – but in a much enhanced form.
According to Pocket Lint, the UK Motoroi (or whatever Motorola chooses to call it) will feature the same 8-megapixel camera, mini HDMI connector and ability to play back and record 720p video as the Motoroi.
However, the phone’s innards will be different, including a quicker processor.
On the software side it’ll be Android 2.1 and, quite possibly, Motorola’s custom Motoblur UI. That's two more things the Motoroi doesn't feature.
The news was spilled at a Taiwan launch event for the XT701 – itself a variant (though inferior in certain respects) of the Motoroi – along with an expected release of “within the next few months”.
