Samsung Galaxy S imminent
Gets green light from the GCF
The Samsung Galaxy S is shaping up to be a serious contender on the increasingly competitive Android handset front.
Set to sport a 1GHz processor, an eye-strokingly gorgeous 4-inch Super-AMOLED touchscreen and Android’s latest 2.1 OS, it’s got everything going for it (on paper at least).
It’s also set to be only the second mobile handset to ever attain DivX certification for its HD output abilities.
We shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for the device, either. As The Unwired reports, the device has just received the required Global Certification Forum (GCF) approval.
The Global Certification Forum website also let slip an additional feature of the handset that Samsung has thus far kept quiet. The Galaxy S will reportedly feature support for "3GPP compliant UMTS video telephony".
