Rocketcat Games's Kepa Auwae has told Touch Arcade that the follow up to wildly popular iPhone swing-'em-up Hook Champ, will be a spiritual successor instead of a true sequel.

Instead of maze-like levels and underground lairs to potter about in, Super Quickhook features frantic, fast-paced gameplay as you outrun and out-swing a looming avalanche in an infinite and randomly generated level.

If your constantly impending death nipping at your heels isn't your idea of fun, Rocketcat Games still plans to stuff the game full of unlockable exploratory stages with no avalanche, no time limit and carefully constructed levels.

The developer also plans to pack it with achievements, a shop system, OpenFeint ghost races, free levels, premium downloads, and "mysterious secrets".

Touch Arcade reveals that Super Quickhook will be released in "about a month" and will release at $1.99 (£1.19) before bumping up to $2.99 (£1.79) as its normal price.
