"Since its launch last October, we’ve seen a tremendous response to the newest member of the PSP family," the PlayStation Blog exclaims. Sony intends to make it even more tremendous by giving away a free game with new purchases of the digital-only console.

Buy a PSPgo between February 18th and March 21st and Sony will email you a voucher code for a free download of either Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet. Assuming, that is, you live in the US or Canada. Sales of the costly handheld console have clearly been tremendous enough everywhere else.

Comments on the blog post seem to be focusing more on the fact that existing PSPgo owners aren't getting noffin' either, but at least Sony has picked two of its hottest games for the give away, should you have $250 burning a hole in your pocket.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
