Negativity is bad thing I'm told, so even when it comes to Nintendo's often pitiful efforts to support its DSiWare channel, I am trying to be optimistic.

At least the arrival of Domo makes me smile.

Domo is a strange cute-but-fierce little monster who, in the way of these things, is big in Japan. He's got his own anime TV show and makes money for his owners thanks to the usual array of plush toys, t-shirts and, probably, underwear.

You can check out his official website here.

He is also kickstarting a series of games for DSiWare. I don't think they are going to rewrite the book of game design, given that the games in question are simple arcade titles with names such as Crash-Course Domo, White-Water Domo, Hard-Hat Domo, Rock-n-Roll Domo, and Pro-Putt Domo.

You can also see some, short, video footage here (from 23 seconds).

Still, at least he will make a change from the Art Style games, which seem to be losing momentum at a rate of knots. Let's just hope the games are more than just gimmicks and are reasonably priced.

Remember Nintendo, we can get Flight Control et al from the App Store for 59p these days.
