Sony’s been avidly denying its existence, but considering the rather random remarks we’ve been hearing from Kaz Hirai lately, it’s hard to know exactly what Sony’s thinking these days.

Still, rumours are equally difficult to believe until the device is right there in our hands, but IGN is now reporting that the PSP2 will have a touchscreen.

Not just a touchscreen, mind you, but a multi-touch touchscreen. This info apparently comes from reliable sources within Sony, and we’re tentatively inclined to believe that - considering the utter lack of support or interest currently shown in the PSP - there probably is a hardware follow up on the prototyping benches.

Other rumours suggest we’ll be seeing the system in 2010, so it probably won’t be too long before all these nebulous rumours begin to solidify, one way or the other.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
