Digital Chocolate's Trip Hawkins hails 'watershed' 3G iPhone

Sees it as a turning point for mobile gaming

Digital Chocolate boss Trip Hawkins has spoken glowingly about Apple's 3G iPhone and plans to sell games through the iPhone App Store.

"Apple has a history of watershed events, but I think the 3G iPhone will turn out to be the big one," he told our sister site PocketGamer.biz.

"This is more than a big event or a mere device, it is a fundamental turning point, and the beginning of a huge trend that many others will follow."

Hopefully this means DChoc will be bringing some of its best mobile games to iPhone – imagine tilting the handset to line up your Tower Bloxx block before tapping the screen to drop it. For example.

Meanwhile, Glu boss Greg Ballard has also praised the device, saying that "The Apple SDK makes taking content to iPhone quick and easy".
