Artificial Life bags the punchy licence

Klitschko brothers sign up for mobile boxing games

Us Brits got bored of heavyweight boxing after Lennox Lewis retired: it's all about lightweight (Amir Khan), welterweight (Ricky Hatton) and super middleweight (Joe Calzaghe) these days. Heavyweights are boring old lunks by comparison.

Not that we'd tell that to the faces of the Klitschko brothers, obviously. Wladimir and Vitali are pretty scary blokes, and they're hardly lunks, what with their PhDs and shared love of chess.

Anyway, they've signed up for a series of mobile games to be developed by Artificial Life. They'll be both 2D and 3D, and "based on the images of these outstanding boxers", which we guess leaves the way open for spin-off puzzle games as well as boxing titles.

The first game is due out later this year. Wouldn't it be great if it was a chess simulator, with brother playing brother, except when one takes the other's Queen, the board gets kicked over and they punch seven bells out of one another?

Just a suggestion.
