God of War: Chains of Olympus finished, marketing unveiled
TV advert done by team responsible for visual style of 300 film
Come on, you didn't really expect to go through a seven-day period without some God of War-related news piece turning up on the site, did you?
Sony America has announced that Chains of Olympus has "gone gold", meaning the game is now finished and ready for manufacture. The publisher also confirmed the US March 4th release, and while there is yet no official announcement regarding its European counterpart, the majority of UK online stores are listing the game's appearance here as March 28th.
Two new screens accompanied the post on Sony's official PlayStation blog, as well as the revelation by a member of the marketing team that the TV advert for the game (which we should also get to see on this side of the Atlantic) is being worked on by Animal Logic, the CG company that provided the visual effects and art direction for the silly-but-visually-striking 300, the Zack Snyder film based on Frank Miller's graphic novel. So it should turn out pretty striking.
Already looking distinctive is the print marketing campaign, if this sneak peak at the teaser ad is anything to go by.
We'll try our best to refrain from typing anything else about this game until review time. We're not making promises, though.
